Wonderful Woodwork!...
10th October 2023
This week down at The Bridge Activity Centre our amazing Woodwork Team have created a beautiful Side table from a combination of an old scrap worktop that came from one of our beneficiaries and off cuts of wood donated to us from Crane Garden Buildings in King’s Lynn.
Over the course of a couple of weeks our talented veterans, Lenny and Jim, took the worktop, sanded it down and varnished it… taking great care with each step that they took.
Before the process began, the worktop didn’t look very promising at all… often we throw old bits of wood away but… in the world that we’re living in, we’re all encouraged to recycle and whilst some of us just saw an old piece of worktop with not much worth, our amazing Veterans saw it’s potential.
Much like the repurposed wood, at The Bridge for Heroes we want our veterans to see their potential. Every veteran has a worth, a future and a purpose. If you are a veteran in a mental health crisis… you are not alone and you have a worth and a purpose.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and require immediate help, please contact 111 or the Samaritans- 116 123.
