The Veterans Voice project covers the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The 2021 census recorded 200,482 people who had previously served in the Armed Forces, accounting for 3.1% of the total population.
There is a wealth of organisations that support the former serving members of the armed forces and their families. You can find more information below in the county you live in, including local and national charities, support provided by local authorities and the NHS as part of their obligations under the armed forces covenant, as well as events and activities happening where you live.

Home to 23,000 veterans, with 2 military units and a range of military charities.
We are calling upon other charities to join us in expanding our network and supporting veterans in their local communities. The Veterans’ Places People and Pathways Programme (VPPP) has already made a significant impact in the East region of the UK.
As part of Thrive Together, we are excited to bring together more initiatives and resources to create sustainable support for our veterans. Let’s work together to make a positive difference in the lives of those who have served our country.
