Beneficiaries of The Bridge for Heroes enjoyed a memorable and uplifting day out at Bressingham Steam Museum and Gardens, taking part in a range of activities designed to encourage wellbeing, connection, and shared experience.

The group had the opportunity to travel on the historic steam railway, with many enjoying the relaxed pace of the journey and the chance to take in the surrounding countryside. The experience proved to be a highlight of the day, offering both nostalgia and enjoyment in equal measure.

In addition to the train ride, beneficiaries explored the extensive gardens, with some choosing to take peaceful walks among the landscaped grounds. Others engaged in photography, capturing the natural beauty of the site and documenting moments from the trip. Several attendees also spent time in the museum, where they were able to learn more about the history of steam transport and view the exhibits on display.

The visit formed part of The Bridge for Heroes’ ongoing programme of activities aimed at supporting the armed forces community through positive social experiences and community engagement.

The trip was made possible thanks to funding support from Norfolk Community Foundation through the Love Norfolk Fund 2025. This support enables The Bridge for Heroes to organise outings and experiences that would otherwise not be possible, helping to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing among beneficiaries.

Helen Taylor, CEO, said the day was a great success, highlighting the importance of providing opportunities for shared experiences in supportive environments.

Highlights from the trip will be shared soon, please follow The Bridge for Heroes social media page to see more from the day.
