Ride London Sportive

Two beneficiaries of The Bridge for Heroes joined 20,000 other bicycle riders to take part in the Ride London Sportive that took place on the 29th May.  The riders started the 61-mile course on Victoria Embankment and finished on the iconic Tower Bridge, via Epping Forest and South Essex.  Mark Howard, a wheelchair user, completed the course in just under 6-hours on a hand-cycle provided by the Bridge for Heroes; he was supported by Karl Perryman riding a Cube Road Bike.  Mark said afterwards that "this is one of the toughest Sportives I've taking part in and I found it more of a challenge than going over Snaefell on the Isle of Man.  We climbed a total of 639-metres over the 61-miles but many of the hills bar one were small inclines but over a long distance, which is a particular challenge for hand-cyclists.  That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the day; its a wonderful experience and the memories will last a life-time".  Karl & Mark are top right.
