If you are interested in modelling ships, aircraft, vehicles and everything in between we now offer a session of modelling every Thursday morning at Nelson House Activity Centre (PE30 2DE). If you are serving or a veteran of HM Forces or a family member and you would like to try your hand at modelling then please pop in to see us. You will be made to feel very welcome
The Bridge for Heroes now offers a session of Glass Engraving once a month at Nelson House Activity Centre. Under the watchful eye of Phil Tuddenham, an experience glass engraver, you can learn how to create and engrave a wonderful design onto a glass, which is then yours to keep. If you would like to try your hand at engraving a glass simply contact a member of our team who will book you in for a session with Phil.
A fabulous tribute to our therapy dog, ‘Trooper’ the Red Fox Labrador by Bill Fisher, who is a regular contributor at our Art & Crafts Activity and who has a real talent for painting.
This week we bid a fond farewell to Tim Waters who leaves us for a fresh challenge at Anglian Water. Tim joined The Bridge for Heroes in February 2022 as our Activities Coordinator and has made a significant contribution to the development and delivery of of the Nelson Nelson House Activity Centre infrastructure and the activities themselves. Tim says that "it was a pleasure to work at The Bridge for Heroes and provided an excellent opportunity to meet new people and learn new skills". He will be greatly missed by all
Christmas is just around the corner and The Bridge for Heroes is holding a Christmas Fair offering novel items, for a donation, that have been made by WISE Enterprise (Wounded Injured and Sick veterans and their families). If you can, pay us a visit to see what we have for offer
There will be an Open Day at Nelson House on 17th November 2022 between 12 & 4pm to showcase the range of activities that The Bridge for Heroes offers to its beneficiaries and to view the range of products that are created by the various Groups, which are available to everybody for an appropriate donation. Members of the public are most welcome.
