We began the week with members of The Bridge for Heroes attending the raising of the flag ceremony in Tower Gardens. During this week we support Armed Forces Reserves Day ahead of Armed Forces day on Saturday 26th June.

It was recorded as the hottest day of the year so far but that did not hinder our activities. We had a flow of visitors during the day who were given demonstrations on how different types of weaponry worked with young and old alike could try on body armor, uniforms and helmets.

A big thank you to Ivan, Martin, Richard, John T, Anne, Roy, Karl and Jacob for volunteering on such a hot day.

Dave, Karl and Mark have taken part in a number of races including the Norfolk Spring Classic at Swandon Morely. The weather is beginning to improve and the evenings much lighter so the team is getting in a few miles practice in-the bike sportive organised over the next couple of months.

If you are interested in joining The Bridge for Heroes, Chain Gang just let us know.

Mark had a potential catastrophic set back when he took his bike in to get a wheel fixed. After a close inspection it was discovered that his hand cycles frame had cracked. This is not an easy thing to fix as the bike is made of aluminium requiring specialist welding. Thankfully Jim from Aluminium Boats East Coast Ltd in Terrington St Clement, jumped to the rescue and was able to weld the frame; of which everyone at The Bridge was very appreciative as Mark without his bike is like a Lifeguard without his horse!
