It main have rained all day and had gale-force winds to contend with but that did not stop John Todd and Steve Russel from putting up their pitch for the free King's Lynn Celebration event in the Walks. The Bridge for Heroes were there to support our troops and hand out Camouflage Gideon New Testaments.

Over the day a few gazebos were turn upside down and many were finding it hard to stay warm but in true Lynn spirit it did not stop some locals from venturing out to enjoy what was on offer. Celebrate King's Lynn is an annual event aiming to bring the Lynn Community together to build relationships. It is also a chance for the local churches to promote the fun initiatives they are organising over the next few months.

Lion's Fun Day was a good awareness opportunity with many members of the general public stopping to find out more about the work of The Bridge for Heroes. Both children and adults had the chance to dress up in different types of uniform and were surprised by the weight of many of the items.

A big 'thank you' to Mark and 'Reel People' for organising such a brilliant days fishing at the lovely Kingfisher lake in Wisbech St Mary. The site has a four acre fishing lake, with 42 decked fishing pegs, with easy access for wheelchair users.

Everyone was chilled, the fish were biting and Gerald fed everyone with barbecued burgers and sausages for lunch.

All of the equipment was provided including the maggots! And the novices amongst the group were treated to one to one coaching enabling everyone got catch over 5 fish each. The hostess, Florence was very amicable and would love to arrange another date very soon. If you didn't get to go on this trip you missed a great day!

Volunteers and Beneficiaries from The Bridge for Heroes took part in the D Day commemorations at the Tower Gardens in King's Lynn paying tribute to the ultimate sacrifice made by soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy 75 years ago.

To the Guardian Troop for attending 15 fund raising days across Norfolk including; Bury St Edmunds, Dereham, Cambridge, Norwich, King's Lynn, Wells Next-to-Sea, Hunstanton, Cromer, Sherringham, as well as double days in Tesco Norwich, Newmarket and Swaffham.
